Alex Tech Training Module Passwords to Change Every 180 Days as of December 6

Alex Tech Training Modules

Training modules accessed from the Alexandria Technical & Community College website, https://alextech.learn.minnstate.edu/d2l/login?noRedirect=1 require a user name and password.

The password for each regional log on is currently listed on ECN’s website. However, due to security rules, regional passwords will now change every 180 days, beginning December 6 after 8:00 a.m.  We are making early notification for your awareness but will send out another notice prior to the change.

Regional passwords will also be removed from our website at that time.

Users with individual user names will receive a prompt when their password needs to be changed (also every 180 days).

Password requirements: Minimum 10 characters long with at least three (each category) of lowercase, uppercase, and non-alphanumeric. You cannot use a previous password or any part of your user name.

ECN will send out information with the new regional password via GovDelivery to the PSAP manager/supervisor, StatusBoard, and sheriff/police chief list approximately one week in advance of when they will be changing. If you need to be added to one of these lists, email Cathy Anderson.

Anyone looking for POST credit for approved courses will need to have an individual log on. For individual log on information, contact Cathy Anderson.

IF YOU ARE TAKING TRAINING MODULES FOR POST CREDIT:

If you plan to use any of the POST-approved modules for credit, you MUST go through the entire module. Use of the modules is tracked, and current records show the maximum amount of time spent in each POST-approved module averages five minutes or less.

When you print out a certificate intending to use it for a POST audit, Alex Tech will not be able to concur that you completed the course if you have spent less than 30 minutes in the module. (This is a POST rule, not Alex Tech policy.)

Thank you for your cooperation.
