Communications Unit Technician Course - Accepting Names for Waiting List

A Communications Unit Technician (COMT) Course is being held October 7-11, 2019, at the St. Louis County EOC, 5735 Old Miller Trunk Hwy, Duluth, MN. 

This course provides a realistic, hands-on approach to mastering the tasks and skills of a COMT.

At this time, we are accepting names to be placed on a waiting list, as the course is currently full.  Student cancellations will be filled from the waiting list.

Prerequisites:   

  • Certifications for IS-100, 200, 700, and 800 (The most current version of the FEMA online independent study courses are recommended but not mandatory.)
  • Public safety background with experience in field operations
  • Technical communications background
  • Awareness of fundamental public safety communications technology
  • Basic knowledge of applicable Communications Plan
  • Familiarity with pre-course reading materials (which will be sent to you if you are moved up from the waiting list.)
