2026 Construction: Hwy 210/I-94 interchange improvements
With the south bridge demolition complete, crews are cleaning up debris and grading the ditch sides. As the weather dries up after a rainy start to the week, they continue to finish the remaining work on the project. Lighting was installed on the bridge, work on the trail along the south side of Highway 210 is still underway, and remaining gaps in concrete will be poured into next week. Cure time will be needed on these areas before they can be opened for use.
Work underneath the bridge on I-94 is also ongoing. They will be removing the crossovers, finishing shoulder work and installing guardrail, and finishing up the work on the southside ramps.
A reminder to drivers that Highway 210 remains an active work zone. Keep watch for workers, trucks and equipment. Your caution and care are appreciated as you give crews the space and patience to do their work.
All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather dependent.
Crews cleanup the bridge demolition debris along the roadside
Last week, with traffic switched over to the new alignment, crews paved the remaining lane at the Redwood Lane roundabout.
Heading westbound on Highway 210? Use the left lane to enter the roundabout to continue west. The right lane is a free right onto the westbound I-94 on-ramp.
Important reminders
Slow down and travel through the work zone with care and caution. While traffic is using the new alignment, there is still road work underway. Be alert for changing conditions, equipment and workers.
Never enter an area blocked by barricades, barrels or cones. Watch for construction equipment or trucks who may be entering or exiting work areas.
Please remember to keep right when entering the roundabouts. When navigating a roundabout:
- Yield to vehicles already in the roundabout. Merge into the traffic flow when it is safe.
- Continue through the roundabout until you reach your exit. Do not stop or pass in a roundabout.
- Exit the roundabout immediately if an emergency vehicle approaches and then pull over. Do not stop in the roundabout.
- Give large trucks extra space in a roundabout. Large trucks will use the truck apron on the center island if needed. At the Redwood Lane roundabout, they will use the gravel center as the temporary truck apron to navigate around the curve.

Current traffic impacts
Highway 210 remains open for east/west travelers. Please travel with care through the work zone.
The westbound I-94 on-ramp and eastbound I-94 off-ramp are now open, but the southside interchange ramps are closed to all travelers (except during Thursday and Friday night work). Continue to use the detour on County Road 1/Tower Road (Exit 55).
Reduced speeds and lane closures on I-94 near the interchange.
