2026 Construction: Hwy 210/I-94 interchange improvements
A lot happening this week on the Highway 210/I-94 interchange project, including the reopening of the eastbound I-94 off-ramp. Now both northside ramps are open for use!
Concrete crews are getting curbs in place on the south and west legs of the Redwood Lane roundabout, and working on the east leg of the easterly roundabout.
Next week, weather permitting, crews will begin the pipe installation across the south junction of Western Avenue. They'll set up the detour on Monday, with the hard closure starting right away in the morning on Tuesday, Oct. 13, so the crew can get to work. East and west travelers on Highway 210 will not be impacted by this closure. Western Avenue traffic will be detoured to Kennedy Park Road to access Western Avenue and businesses from the south. The work is expected to last through Wednesday, potentially into Thursday, weather permitting.
Also on Tuesday, motorists will encounter flaggers on the west end of the project while culvert lining is underway. Your patience is appreciated!
The demolition of the old bridge is tentatively planned for the week of Oct. 19, weather permitting. More information to come as the confirmed schedule becomes known.
All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather dependent.
Work will take place in the Western Avenue crossing and median just south of Highway 210. Travelers east/west on Highway 210 will not be impacted. Use Kennedy Park Road to access Western Avenue from the south.
Concrete crews are on-site at the Redwood Lane roundabout, installing curbing and prepping for final paving.

Important reminders
Slow down and travel through the work zone with care and caution. While traffic is using the new alignment, there is still road work underway. Be alert for changing conditions, equipment and workers.
Never enter an area blocked by barricades, barrels or cones. Currently all traffic is running on paved surfaces, so please do not enter any gravel areas. Watch for construction equipment or trucks who may be entering or exiting the work areas at these barricaded locations. Do not follow them.
Please remember to keep right when entering the roundabouts. When navigating a roundabout:
- Yield to vehicles already in the roundabout. Merge into the traffic flow when it is safe.
- Continue through the roundabout until you reach your exit. Do not stop or pass in a roundabout.
- Exit the roundabout immediately if an emergency vehicle approaches and then pull over. Do not stop in the roundabout.
- Give large trucks extra space in a roundabout. Large trucks will use the truck apron on the center island if needed. At the Redwood Lane roundabout, they will use the gravel center as the temporary truck apron to navigate around the curve.
The Redwood Lane roundabout is only half-complete, so traffic is using temporary lanes to continue east/west on Highway 210. Always keep right when entering a roundabout and continue around the circle until your exit.

Current traffic impacts
Highway 210 remains open for east/west travelers. Please travel with care through the work zone.
The westbound I-94 on-ramp and eastbound I-94 off-ramp are now open, but the southside interchange ramps are closed to all travelers. Continue to use the detour on County Road 1/Tower Road (Exit 55).
Reduced speeds and head-to-head traffic on I-94 near the interchange.
