Metro - Hwy 169 and Hwy 282/Co. Rd. 9 in Jordan: 2025-2027 construction
Crews will close both directions of Hwy 169 between Hwy 21 in Jordan and Co. Rd. 59/Delaware Ave. in St. Lawrence Township from 10 p.m. Thu, Oct. 8 to 5 a.m. Fri, Oct. 9. The closure is needed for workers to safely pour cement for a bridge at the new Hwy 169 and Hwy 282/Co. Rd. 9 interchange.
The temporary intersection at Hwy 169 and Creek Ln. will remain open except for southbound Hwy 169 traffic.
During the closure, motorists traveling north to homes and businesses along Hwy 21/Broadway St. west of Hwy 169 will be detoured to northbound Hwy 169, then directed to use the first J-turn to access Hwy 21/Broadway St.
Plan ahead by checking 511, and give yourself additional time to reach your destination.
All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather and schedule permitting and subject to change.
Please drive with care in work zones:
- Slow down when approaching every work zone, then navigate with care and caution.
- Stay alert; work zones constantly change.
- Watch for workers and slow-moving equipment.
- Obey posted speed limits. The fine for a violation in a work zone is $300.
- Minimize distractions behind the wheel.
- Be patient; expect delays, especially during peak travel times.

We are partnering with the city of Jordan and Scott County to construct a new interchange at Hwy 169 and Hwy 282/Co. Rd. 9 in Jordan. Construction will include two bridges, large drainage culverts, two roundabouts, a pedestrian tunnel, sidewalks, retaining walls and noise walls. The project will improve safety and traffic flow and create better connections for pedestrians and bicyclists. The project is anticipated to be complete in 2027.
