Concrete crews poured the collars around the manholes in Cyrus this week—the last pours of the project! Because of their locations within the driving lanes, we need to give them time to cure before we can reopen the roadway. The road is scheduled to be fully reopened to traffic and the detour signs removed on Monday, Sept. 28!
MnDOT appreciates everyone's patience this season as the project progressed. We know closures and detours can be frustrating, and we thank you for your commitment to safety and cooperation during construction.
In the upcoming weeks, there will still be workers on-site doing final work in various areas throughout the project. As they finish things up, please slow down and give them space to work.
For now, the highway remains closed to thru-traffic. If you don't have a destination along the roadway, please follow the signed detour route.
All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather dependent.

The concrete collars around the manhole locations on Highway 28 will need several days to fully cure before the roadway can be reopened to all traffic.
