Hwy 210/I-94 interchange improvements

Traffic changes begin next week for Hwy 210/I-94 interchange project

Crews have been working to get the concrete complete along the new alignment and other final touches in preparation for the next phase of traffic changes on Highway 210. We are anticipating east/west traffic will move to the new Highway 210 alignment and bridge on Thursday, Sept. 17. At that time, the northside ramps (eastbound I-94 off-ramp and westbound I-94 on-ramp) will reopen too! That date is subject to change, based on weather and concrete progress. 

The intersection at Redwood Lane will have temporary lanes constructed to connect the new alignment with the old alignment, so traffic can continue to flow while crews complete the west leg of the roundabout at Redwood Lane. The map below shows how drivers will navigate from one area to the other when the switch occurs. 

And starting Monday, Sept. 14, weather permitting, I-94 traffic will run head-to-head to allow crews to finish up work underneath the bridge. 

All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather dependent.

As the west leg of the roundabout is constructed, traffic will use temporary lanes to navigate around the roundabout to continue east/west or access businesses

Traffic reminders Highway 210 is open for east/west travelers across the south bridge during construction, one lane in each direction. Please travel with care.  The interchange ramps are closed to all travelers. I-94 traffic to/from Highway 210 should use the detour on County Road 1/Tower Road (Exit 55). Reduced speeds and lane closures on I-94 near the interchange.
