What's happening now?
Crews are currently shaping the gravel this week. Emergency vehicles are able to access Highway 71 as well as local traffic. The detour is still in place.
What's next?
Paving operations will begin in the next few weeks. The detour is expected to be lifted in early October, weather permitting. The final lift of paving will be complete under traffic with flagger operations. Motorists can expect delays during that time.
Access to Highway 71 from Beltrami CR 23 will be closed during the final lift of paving. Motorists should find an alternate route.
