Hwy 210/I-94 interchange improvements

Work pauses for holiday weekend on Hwy 210 & upcoming traffic changes

Concrete work and bridge touch ups continued this week, and crews will pause for the holiday weekend and resume work on Tuesday.

Starting next Tuesday, Sept. 8, the temporary signal at the intersection of Highway 210 and Redwood Lane will be removed and the intersection will become a four-way stop. The signal is being removed so crews can prepare the intersection for the upcoming traffic switches coming mid-September. They will construct temporary lanes to connect the new alignment with the old alignment so traffic can continue to flow while crews complete all lanes of the roundabout at Redwood Lane.

Timing of the switch depends on concrete progress, but tentatively the next phase of traffic changes will happen the week of Sept. 14. At that time, east/west traffic will switch to the new alignment between Western Avenue and Redwood Lane, and the northside ramps (eastbound I-94 off-ramp and westbound I-94 on-ramp) will reopen!

All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather dependent.

The new bridge deck and sidewalks are in place, with final touches, railing installation and painting underway

Traffic reminders Highway 210 is open for east/west travelers across the south bridge during construction, one lane in each direction. Please travel with care.  The interchange ramps are closed to all travelers. I-94 traffic to/from Highway 210 should use the detour on County Road 1/Tower Road (Exit 55). Reduced speeds and lane closures on I-94 near the interchange.
