Highway 28 Morris to Starbuck

Last stretch of road work in Cyrus; work pauses for long weekend

Paving crews arrived back on-site this week in Cyrus to get the first lifts of pavement started in Phase 2. They've paved the base layers and next week will pave the final lift in both phases. Concrete work and turf establishment will continue through next week too. Final striping to follow.

Activity will pause for the long Labor Day weekend, with work resuming Tuesday. 

All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather dependent.

Other local traffic safety reminders:

• This is an active work zone, even in areas where workers aren't present. Please slow down, and travel with extreme caution and care. 
• Be alert for changing conditions, such as uneven, rough and/or gravel surfaces
• Watch for workers, trucks hauling, and slow-moving heavy equipment

The highway is closed to thru-traffic. If you don't have a destination along the roadway, please follow the signed detour route. For access to Cyrus, follow the detour and from County Road 18 use County Road 3 to enter from the south.

• Final striping from Starbuck to Cyrus
