What's happening now?
This week, crews began removals of the temporary bypass lane and realignment of Gillette to the north leg of the roundabout. Thursday, Sept. 3, crews will construct mini-roundabouts on Hannah Ave. at 30th Street and Anne St. to accommodate the additional traffic for the upcoming detour, starting Sept. 8.
The short-term detour will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 8, after the morning traffic rush. The detour will close the north part of the Highway 71/197 intersection to allow crews to remove the temporary lanes and reconstruct the portion of the intersection to concrete. Motorists will detour onto Hannah Ave. and Anne St. during this two-week closure.
Motorists should expect delays on Tuesday, Sept. 8 during the closure and detour. Please allow extra time and use caution as everyone gets familiar with the new traffic pattern.

Stage 1F: Removals at Highway 71/197 intersection
Begins Tuesday, Sept. 8
Duration: 2 weeks
This stage will reconstruct the north side of the Highway 71/197 intersection. The north portion of the intersection will close while this work is completed.
Traffic will be detoured using Hannah Avenue and Anne Street. Temporary compact roundabouts will also be installed at 30th Street and Anne Street to help keep traffic moving during the short-term detour.
