Bridge beams have been installed over westbound I-94! Crews continue to work on bridge decking. The week of July 13, head-to-head traffic will be switched from the eastbound lanes to the westbound lanes, weather permitting. At that time, crews will set the final bridge beams, and later in July, they will pour the bridge deck.
Over the Fourth of July holiday weekend, work will pause Friday through Sunday. However, work zones remain in place so please travel with caution and follow the signed detour routes.
On Highway 210, grading continues on the roadway, ramps and roundabout locations, and on the east side of the bridge, underground work has started.
Heads up for local traffic: in the upcoming weeks, as the pipe crews continue on the east side of bridge, there will be a time when Western Ave will temporarily close to allow for installation of pipe across the roadway. One side will be closed at a time, for up to three days, and traffic will be detoured to local roads around the closure. More details to come as the schedule becomes known.
I-94 traffic for Exit 54 should continue to use the detour on County Road 1 and Tower Road (Exit 55). Please travel with care.

Travel reminder: Know before you go
Have Fourth of July weekend travel plans? Check 511mn.org for statewide traffic impacts. The project at the Highway 210/I-94 interchange is just one of many road construction projects happening on Minnesota highways. Before you go, check the 511 map to see where you may encounter work zones, detours and more. Always slow down in work zones (even when workers aren't present) and never enter an area blocked by barriers or cones.

All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather dependent and subject to change. MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, slow down in work zones where workers are present, and never enter an area that's blocked by barriers or cones.
