Road work will begin Monday, July 20, on Highway 114. Crews will resurface Highway 114 from Highway 55 near Lowry to I-94. Construction is expected to last through mid-September. Crews will begin resurfacing near I-94, working south.
Highway 114 will remain open, but motorists should expect daily delays and be prepared to stop. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers and pilot cars for approximately the first 3 weeks of construction. After that, drivers can expect lane closures and delays. As always, we ask motorists to slow down in the work zone, obey traffic control, and be on the lookout for workers, signs, and equipment.
All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather dependent.
 Previous work:
Last year, the Minnesota Department of Transportation constructed a roundabout at the intersection of Highway 114 and Highway 27, and replaced culverts between Highway 55 near Lowry to Interstate 94.
Other traffic safety reminders:
- This is an active work zone, even in areas where workers aren't present. Please slow down, and travel with extreme caution and care.
- Always obey flaggers and follow pilot car
- Be alert for changing conditions, such as uneven, rough and/or gravel surfaces
- Watch for workers, trucks hauling, and slow-moving heavy equipment
