D3 - Let me know about new projects in central Minnesota
Detours in place July 7-fall 2026
We want to let you know about major roadwork ahead on Hwy 65 between the end of the four‑lane in Cambridge and Kanabec Co. Rd. 45 north of Braham. The project will improve and resurface more than 10 miles of roadway, including drainage and sidewalks in Grandy.
Work will be completed in two segments — Stanchfield to Cambridge and Stanchfield to Brunswick — and you’ll see lane and road closures, detours, reduced speeds and occasional one‑way traffic with flaggers through the work zone.
Map shows four stages of impacts, and the truck detour that will be used to complete Hwy 65 work from July 7- fall 2026. Select image to enlarge online.
What to expect Tue, July 7
Hwy 65 will close to through traffic between Isanti Co. Rd. 3 in Stanchfield and Isanti Co. Rd. 30 in Cambridge. A truck detour will also go in effect between Mora and Cambridge.
- Through-traffic detour: Co. Rd. 3, Isanti Co. Rd. 36, Isanti Co. Rd. 34 and Co. Rd. 30
- Truck detour (all season): Hwy 23, Hwy 47, Hwy 95 and Hwy 169
West (Grandy) access is available via Co. Rd. 3 or Hwy 65. Local traffic can still reach homes, businesses and destinations, but short hard closures will occur as crews replace pipes.
Later this summer
A second closure will begin from Stanchfield to Brunswick. Traffic will detour on Co. Rd. 3, Isanti Co. Rd. 14/Co. Rd. 4 and Kanabec Co. Rd. 16. East (Braham) access is available via Co. Rd. 3, Hwy 107 or Hwy 65.
