While Phase 1 work in Cyrus continues, milling will start west of Cyrus on Monday, June 1, weather permitting. Crews will work east to west, from Cyrus working toward Morris. Local traffic should be prepared to encounter flaggers and pilot cars, and expect delays.
The highway is closed to thru-traffic. If you don't have a destination along the roadway, please follow the signed detour route. For access to Cyrus, follow the detour and from County Road 18 use County Road 3 to enter from the south.

Phase 1 underground replacements in Cyrus continue, and crews are currently hooking up services for sanitary sewer. They have another week or so of utility work, and then they will start rebuilding the roadway and prep for curb and gutter.
Culvert work west of Cyrus is complete and starting on Monday, June 1, they will begin milling and reclaiming from Cyrus toward Morris. Local traffic will encounter flaggers and pilot cars. Please be prepared to stop and expect minor delays.
Next week, crews will also begin the culvert work east of Cyrus, working east toward Starbuck. They'll get started with culvert linings and entrance pipes. Please give workers plenty of room. We still have two centerline culverts to replace, closer to Starbuck, but it will be a couple weeks until crews get there. When that work occurs, the road will be impassable to all traffic at those locations.
A reminder that the road remains closed to thru-traffic. For local traffic, if you live east of Cyrus, you will need to find an alternate route if you're trying to get to town. You cannot enter Cyrus from the east. The best way to access Cyrus is to follow the detour and use County Road 3 to enter/exit from the south.
Please support your local businesses! During the in-town work, if you're trying to access a business within the work area, check in with them on the best way to get there. You may have to park on a side street and walk up, or use a back door. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
