Metro - Hwy 169 and Hwy 282/Co. Rd. 9 in Jordan: 2025-2027 construction
Hwy 169 will be closed to traffic in both directions between Hwy 282/Co. Rd. 9 and Hwy 21 from 10 p.m. Tue, May 26 to 5 a.m. Wed, May 27 to switch traffic to a temporary signal at Hwy 169 and Creek Ln.
Motorists can bypass the nighttime closure using Hwy 21 and Hwy 282.
Then, at 5 a.m. Wed, May 27 until early fall 2027:
- Hwy 282 will be closed in both directions between Hwy 169 and Creek Ln.
- Co. Rd. 9 will be closed in both directions between Hwy 169 and 190th St./Valley View Dr.
These road closures are necessary to allow crews to continue bridge and wall construction at Hwy 169 and Hwy 282/Co Rd. 9.
All Jordan businesses will remain accessible during the closures.
- Use Creek Ln. to access the businesses along Triangle Ln.
- Businesses along Hwy 282 between Hwy 169 and Creek Ln. will be accessible from Creek Ln. S.
- Truck traffic exiting and entering Hwy 169 in Jordan should continue to use the Delaware Ave./Co. Rd. 59 interchange through early fall 2027.
From May 27 through summer 2026, northbound Hwy 169 will be reduced to one lane from just south to just north of the Hwy 282/Co. Rd. 9 intersection. Portions of southbound Hwy 169 will be reduced to one lane from Hwy 21 through the Hwy 282/Co. Rd. 9 intersection.
Plan ahead by checking 511, and give yourself additional time to reach your destination.
All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather and schedule permitting and subject to change.
Please drive with care in work zones:
- Slow down when approaching every work zone, then navigate with care and caution.
- Stay alert; work zones constantly change.
- Watch for workers and slow-moving equipment.
- Obey posted speed limits. The fine for a violation in a work zone is $300.
- Minimize distractions behind the wheel.
- Be patient; expect delays, especially during peak travel times.

We are partnering with the city of Jordan and Scott County to construct a new interchange at Hwy 169 and Hwy 282/Co. Rd. 9 in Jordan. Construction will include two bridges, large drainage culverts, two roundabouts, a pedestrian tunnel, sidewalks, retaining walls and noise walls. The project will improve safety and traffic flow and create better connections for pedestrians and bicyclists. The project is anticipated to be complete in 2027.
