Hwy 25 Buffalo to Monticello: 2026 construction
 Quick heads up!
CP Railway has notified MnDOT that they will close the Hwy 25 railroad crossing south of Hwy 55 in Buffalo for emergency repairs during the week of Monday, May 4.
Crews install drainage pipes beneath the road.
Hwy 25 remains closed and detoured to through traffic between John Ause Memorial Dr. in Buffalo and Cameron Ave. NE south of Monticello. The detour uses Hwy 55, Co. Rd. 12, Co. Rd. 37 NE and Cameron Ave. NE (Co. Rd. 131).
Local access will remain open for those who live, work, or visit locations within the work zone. Short-term hard closures will occur as crews work under the roadway. Use the closest possible entrance to your destination and follow posted signs; alternate routes may be needed.
Please stay on the signed detour and avoid barricaded areas. Residents along the corridor are seeing increased traffic and turn-arounds on dead-end roads, so your cooperation is appreciated. :)
Roundabout construction schedule (tentative)
- April 21 – early June: Hwy 25 and Co. Rd. 37
- May 4– early July: Hwy 25 and Catlin St.
- After July 1: Hwy 25 and Co. Rd. 113
All information is tentative and subject to change. Weather, contractor schedules and material delays are examples.
