Hwy 61 London Road Weekly Construction Update

Current and Upcoming Work

MnDOT appreciates your patience as work begins. There are a lot of changes occurring with traffic shifts and detour implementation, and we are trying to make things as smooth as possible. Our traffic engineers are closely monitoring Superior Street and over the next week will consider possible changes to traffic control. 

• Currently on full detour for Stage 1A
• Southbound traffic detoured off of the expressway on to Superior Street to 21^st Ave E
• Northbound traffic on London Road
• Southbound traffic still open to local traffic
• Temp Traffic Signals are up and running at 26^th Ave E and 60^th Ave E on Superior Street
• Removals and bypass construction is happening at 26^th Ave E and London Road
• This will happen the remainder of this week
• Should be paved by next week
• 40^th Ave E utility relocation underway
• Lakeside (Stage 1A) should be completed by end of next week
• Landside (Stage 1B) will be switched to after the completion of 1A
• Removal of sidewalk only (no driveways or quadrants) will be happening from 43^rd Ave E to 57^th Ave E
• This will be landside only
