Thank you for signing up to receive email updates about the upcoming project at the west junction of Highway 210 and I-94. These emails will be a great way to stay informed during construction. We'll share project progress, traffic impacts and other helpful information about the road work.
Open house on April 23
We invite you to attend a construction open house on Thursday, April 23, from 5 to 7 p.m., held at the AmericInn by Wyndham, 526 Western Ave in Fergus Falls to learn more about the interchange improvement project.
There will be no formal presentation. Please stop by at your convenience during the open house. MnDOT construction staff will be available to answer questions about the project, construction timelines, and detour routes
About the project
This year, MnDOT will be making major improvements to the west junction of Highway 210 and I-94. The work includes replacing the existing two bridges with a single structure; building trails on both sides of the road; constructing three roundabouts, one at each interchange ramp as well as Redwood lane; and realigning the on- and off-ramps.
Construction is scheduled to begin on April 27, weather permitting. Expect lane closures and shoulder closures on I-94 and Highway 210 as crews install traffic control devices in preparation for detours, closures and traffic switches starting May 4.
 Traffic impacts and detour
Starting May 4, motorists can expect:
Nightwork starting May 4, up to three nights
Starting May 4 and lasting up to three nights, I-94 will close near the interchange for bridge demolition. During the nightwork, each night I-94 traffic will be routed temporarily around the work area on the interchange ramps, with the ramps closing again during the daytime. Hours of operation are still to be determined and will be announced when we get closer to construction starting. After the bridge demolition is complete, the ramps will close 24/7 through October, and motorists traveling to/from Highway 210 should follow the detour on County Road 1/Tower Road.
For more information about this project, visit the project website.
All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather dependent and subject to change. MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, slow down in work zones where workers are present, and never enter an area that's blocked by barriers or cones.
