D3 - Hwy 210 (Washington St.) in Brainerd: 2026-2027 construction
You're invited to a construction kick-off meeting on Tuesday, March 31, for the upcoming two-year $46 million Hwy 210/Washington St. improvement project in Brainerd.
Guests can choose from two duplicate open-house-style meeting that will focus on 2026 construction on Hwy 210 between Pine Shores Road and Kingwood Street.

When and where work starts:

In mid-April, crews will begin preparing the work zone along eastbound Hwy 210 by the east mall (westbound Hwy 210 to southbound Hwy 25 access connection to closes).
- In mid-May, construction will begin on the two roundabouts between 10th and Fifth Ave. NE near the east mall.
Brainerd is open! Local access will remain open throughout the project, but travelers should anticipate changes and marked detours.
MnDOT will host a 2027 construction kick-off event next spring.

L. Larson Excavating is the prime contractor for the two-year, $46 million, MnDOT Hwy 210/Washington St. Brainerd improvement project. Crews will rebuild or resurface road segments, upgrade underground utilities, construct two new roundabouts, improve sidewalks and trail connections, and update the Mississippi River bridge.
When the project wraps up in fall 2027, it will bring safer travel, smoother traffic flow, and dependable access — all while creating a better and more beautiful Brainerd.
