D3 - Let me know about new projects in central Minnesota
Happy New Year! While it’s still cold and snowy outside, we’re already planning for the 2026 construction season.
Central Minnesota will see about 25 road and bridge projects this year, including several major ones that may impact your travel. For these larger projects with multiple stages and detours, we’ve set up dedicated email lists so you can get updates specific to the work that matters most to you.

Expand Hwy 10 to four lanes and resurface and improve Hwy 71 and Hwy 29 in Wadena, Otter Tail and Wadena counties. The project will take two more construction seasons to complete and will have multiple detours. (Year 2 of 3)
Reconstruct the interchange and bridge over I-94 between 179th St. and Smith St. in Clearwater, Wright County. This includes roundabouts and a new bridge in 2026-2027. Hwy 24 will remain open to traffic at most times, with the exception of some overnight closures for bridge work. (Year 1 of 2)
Resurface and improve Hwy 25 from Catlin St. in Buffalo to Kjellberg Ct. in south Monticello, Wright County. The project will require detours.
Reconstruct and improve Hwy 27 (Main St.) from east of Chippewa Ave. to east of Fourth St. W in Wahkon, Mille Lacs County. The project requires a detour.
Resurface and install updates over 10 miles of road from south of 357th Ave. NE at the end of four-lane in Cambridge, Isanti County, to south of Kanabec Co. Rd. 45/128th Ave., includes drainage pipes and sidewalk in Grandy. Work will be done in segments and require detours.
Improve and expand I-94 to six lanes, three in each direction, to close the gap between Albertville and Monticello, Wright County; includes drainage and bridges. Overall, open to two-lanes, each direction. Off-peak single-lane closures. (Year 3 of 3)
Reconstruct or expand segments of Hwy 95 between Fern St. and Fillmore St. in Cambridge, Isanti County; includes underground city utilities, accesses and sidewalks. The project will be done in segments with detours . (Year 1 of 2)
Improve five miles of Hwy 169 from south of Garrison at Crow Wing Co. Rd. 26 to north of Garrison at Pike Ave.; includes city storm sewer, sidewalk and a new roundabout at the busy Hwy 18 intersection. The project requires detours.
Improve the four-lane segment of Hwy 210/Washington St. from Baxter Dr. to Pine Shores Rd. through Brainerd, Crow Wing County; includes upgrades to the Mississippi River bridge and sidewalks. The project requires detours. (Year 1 of 2)
