Week 28 progress
This is it, folks. All lanes, entrances and sidewalks are open in Pelican Rapids! Crews are finishing up final touches, so you will see workers out and about cleaning up, removing traffic control, etc. Please slow down and give them space to work.
Overall, the two-year complete streets project in Pelican Rapids is about complete, and so this will be our final weekly update for this project. Thank you for signing up to receive our emails and staying engaged during construction.
Thank you to all residents and businesses, commuters, visitors and friends of Pelican Rapids. Your patience, cooperation and commitment to safety during these two years of construction is appreciated—you are the reason for its success.
A separate project will take place in 2026 for planting the trees downtown.
Safe travels!
And as winter approaches, a reminder to always check 511mn.org for current road conditions before you go—plan ahead and check the weather, snow and ice conditions on state roads across Minnesota.

All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather dependent and subject to change. MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, slow down in work zones where workers are present, and never enter an area that's blocked by barriers or cones.
