Week 23 progress
Preparations for paving crews to return next Wednesday, Oct. 15, are underway. Between now and then, concrete crews are finishing up their work.
Paving is currently planned to start on Highway 108 west, in Stages 3A-B. Then crews will move to Highway 59, County Road 9 and Pete Lane. They have to do the final lift (layer) of pavement in all of Stage 2C on Highway 59, from Fifth Avenue NE to north of County Road 9, so motorists should expect additional lane closures and flagging operations while that work takes place.
Then, they'll return to Highway 108 west to finish paving the final lift in Stage 3A-B as well as mill and pave in Stage 3C, west of Third Street NW heading out of town. Flaggers will direct traffic.
Reminder: at this time, you still can not access County Road 9 directly from Highway 59. The entrance to/from County Road 9 is closed to all traffic while the realignment work is underway. Drivers should use the detour on Highway 34 to enter from the north, or find an alternate route to and from County Road 9. Business access is maintained for the businesses near/at the intersection, but no thru-traffic is permitted.
Curb and gutter is in on Pete Lane!
Repairs were made to the rock wall along Highway 108 west, and crews continue pouring sidewalks
Work continues on Highway 108 west to prepare for paving
When the Hwy 59/CR 9 intersection closes, consider using the MnDOT detour to access CR 9 or find an alternate route
There are several ways you can find information or get your questions answered:
All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather dependent and subject to change. MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, slow down in work zones where workers are present, and never enter an area that's blocked by barriers or cones.
