Week 22 progress
The big news this week: Highway 108 east reopened to all traffic! BIG thank you to everyone, especially residents and businesses along Highway 108 east, for your patience, cooperation and commitment to safety while Stage 4A-C was underway. You may still see workers out doing final touches, so please drive with caution and give them space.
On Highway 59 and County Road 9, crews have finished grading the roadways, including the new "Pete Lane." Concrete crews are up next to work on curb and gutter.
Reminder: you can not access County Road 9 directly from Highway 59. The entrance to/from County Road 9 is closed to all traffic while the realignment work is underway. Drivers should use the detour on Highway 34 to enter from the north, or find an alternate route to and from County Road 9. Business access is maintained for the businesses near/at the intersection, but no thru-traffic is permitted. You will be turned around.
Over on Highway 108 west, all the utilities are in and concrete crews continue to get curb, gutter and sidewalks poured.
Paving crews are scheduled to arrive back on-site the week of Oct. 13 to tackle Stage 2C on Highway 59/County Road 9 and Stages 3A-C on Highway 108 west. They'll also do the final lift (layer) of pavement on Highway 59, from Fifth Avenue NE to north of County Road 9, so motorists should expect additional lane closures and flaggers during that work.
 Highway 108 east is open!
Crews are grading and getting the new alignment of County Road 9 and the new Pete Lane ready for concrete crews
Grading on Highway 59 continues too
Concrete crews continue with curb and gutter on Highway 108 west
When the Hwy 59/CR 9 intersection closes, consider using the MnDOT detour to access CR 9 or find an alternate route
There are several ways you can find information or get your questions answered:
All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather dependent and subject to change. MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, slow down in work zones where workers are present, and never enter an area that's blocked by barriers or cones.
