Week 21 progress
Crews are getting ready to switch traffic over on Highway 59. With the east side now paved, crews will get started on the west side of the road. When this switch occurs, we'll say "goodbye!" to the automated signal and traffic will travel head-to-head through this section.
In addition, on the north end, they're finishing up culvert replacements on County Road 9, and will focus on getting the road realignment completed.
Reminder: you can not access County Road 9 directly from Highway 59. The entrance to/from County Road 9 is closed to all traffic while the realignment work is underway. Drivers should use the detour on Highway 34 to enter from the north, or find an alternate route to and from County Road 9. Business access is maintained for the businesses near/at the intersection, but no thru-traffic is permitted. You will be turned around.
On Highway 108 east in Stages 4A-C, final paving is underway! They plan to finish the last lift (layer) of pavement by Friday, and early next week, striping crews will be on-site for final striping. Once that is done, Highway 108 east will officially reopen to all traffic.
On Highway 108 west, in Stages 3A-B, the intersection of 3rd Street NW remains closed as crews replace the underground utilities through the intersection. Use a planned alternate route planned, or take the thru-traffic/truck routes out of town. Crews are expecting to reopen 3rd Street NW by Saturday. The intersection will remain gravel when it reopens. Please drive with caution.
In addition, concrete crews continue their work on Highway 108 west, pouring curb, gutter and sidewalks.

There are several ways you can find information or get your questions answered:
All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather dependent and subject to change. MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, slow down in work zones where workers are present, and never enter an area that's blocked by barriers or cones.
