Pathways to Success program application deadline is Oct. 1
Don't miss your opportunity to apply for the Pathways to Success program! This free program, offered by MnDOT Office of Civil Rights, supports certified small businesses as they navigate bidding on MnDOT projects. Receive one-to-one business support, resources and referrals through June 2026. Space is limited and only a select number of certified small businesses will be accepted into the program. Watch a short video about Pathways to Success to learn more.
One-to-one Small Business Assistance program
MnDOT continues its One-to-one Small Business Assistance program. Sessions may be virtual or in-person depending on your preference. Our experts are available to assist you in a variety of areas.
Mentor-Protégé program seeks mentors
The Mentor-Protégé program furthers the development of certified Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) firms by providing training and assistance from other firms. With mentorship, the small businesses may:
- Move into nontraditional areas of work
- Compete in the marketplace outside the DBE program
- Develop their capacity to compete on projects
Become a mentor - reap benefits:
- Establish a business-to-business relationship. Firms share their expertise and resources to further their business objectives. Doing so creates a stronger economy with a more competitive business environment.
- Learn, evolve, and compete on state and city projects and in new markets. Minnesota Department of Transportation, Metropolitan Airport Commission, Met Council, and the City of Minneapolis are participating agencies.
- Increase the statewide capacity and availability of DBEs and help develop relationships that foster DBE participation on projects.
- Receive credit to partner with DBE firms, and DBEs receive assistance in developing their business.

Worksite cooperation committee meeting
This Collaborative subcommittee identifies worksite issues related to workforce diversity. It develops recommendations to ensure construction worksites are respectful and welcoming to all.
Results and transparency committee meeting
The Results and Transparency workgroup reviews and monitors the projects, workforce goals, and progress in hiring women and people of color on highway construction projects.
