Highway 87 construction update: September 18
The Highway 87 project in Hubbard is on schedule and expected to be complete mid-October. The work at the dam is still expected to be complete mid-September. The detour will be in place for the duration of the entire project through mid-October. MnDOT will continue to maintain access for area residents and businesses throughout construction.
What's happening this week?
September 15-20

Traffic impacts: Full detour is in place utilizing Highway 71, Highway 34 and Hubbard County Road 20. Highway 87 is not passable between Lake Street (CR6) and Delaney Lane due to construction on the Long Lake box culvert. *
- Removed temporary stream bypass pipe
- Removed sheetpile cofferdam, allowing lake water to flow through the newly completed weir/box culvert
- Continue constructing embankment and new road core around the new box culvert site
- Ditch grading and installing entrance culverts west of Delaney Lane near the box culvert

Highway 87 between Highway 71 and east of Hubbard will be detoured during construction, but residents and businesses will be able to access their properties. Thru traffic will not be allowed to ensure safety of the workers. Thru traffic will be detoured onto Hubbard County Road 20 and Highways 34 and 71. The project is expected to be complete mid-October, weather permitting.
