Starting Monday, Sept. 22, at 7 a.m., the intersection of Highway 108 west and 3rd Street NW (the current in-town detour route for Stages 3A and 3B) will close to all traffic.
The closure is expected to last for approximately one week, weather permitting. Plan ahead and have an alternate route planned, or use the thru-traffic/truck routes out of town.
Week 20 progress
Crews are finishing the final touches on the east side of Highway 59 in Stage 2C and the road is almost ready for paving crews to arrive back on-site next week. They'll pave that side of the highway, and then flip traffic over to work on the west side of the road. When this happens, they'll remove the automated signal and traffic will travel head-to-head through this section!

Crews are working on culvert replacements at County Road 9, and will construct the new alignment for the road when they switch over to the west side.
Reminder: you can not access County Road 9 directly from Highway 59. The entrance to/from County Road 9 is closed to all traffic while the realignment work is underway. Drivers should use the detour on Highway 34 to enter from the north, or find an alternate route to and from County Road 9. Business access is maintained for the businesses near/at the intersection, but no thru-traffic is permitted. You will be turned around.
On Highway 108 east in Stages 4A-C, concrete crews are finishing up and manholes are being installed. When the paving crews are back next week, they'll pave the last lift (layer) of pavement on Highway 108 east. Final striping is the last step before Highway 108 east can officially reopen to all traffic!
On Highway 108 west, in Stages 3A-B, utility replacements are complete up to 3rd Street NW. The closure of the 3rd Street NW intersection (the current in-town detour route for Stages 3A and 3B) will begin Monday, Sept. 22, at 7 a.m., weather permitting. Crews will be removing and replacing the underground utilities in the intersection. Please plan ahead and consider your alternate route to/from town. They expect the work to take approximately a week to complete and then they'll reopen the intersection.
In addition, concrete crews are working between 1st Street NW and 2nd Street NW on Highway 108 west, pouring curb, gutter and beginning flatwork.
The east side of Highway 59 in Stage 2C is ready for paving crews to return next week!

When the Hwy 59/CR 9 intersection closes, consider using the MnDOT detour to access CR 9 or find an alternate route
There are several ways you can find information or get your questions answered:
All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather dependent and subject to change. MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, slow down in work zones where workers are present, and never enter an area that's blocked by barriers or cones.
