Highway 87 construction update: September 5
*Please note: The Highway 87 east project near Highway 64 is almost complete. Crews will be paving from Blackberry Lane to Highway 64 this week. Next week, weather permitting, crews will work on gravel shoulders, guardrails at the bridge, rumble strips and pavement markings. This work is completed with flagger and pilot car operations.
Highway 87 Hubbard
The Highway 87 project in Hubbard is on schedule and expected to be complete mid-October. The work at the dam is still expected to be complete mid-September. The detour will be in place for the duration of the entire project through mid-October. MnDOT will continue to maintain access for area residents and businesses throughout construction.
What's happening this week?
September 2-6

Traffic impacts: Full detour is in place utilizing Highway 71, Highway 34 and Hubbard County Road 20. Highway 87 is not passable between Lake Street (CR6) and Delaney Lane due to construction on the Long Lake box culvert. *
- Continued work on new box culvert. Concrete pour is underway for the new box.
- Crews tying rebar and placing forms for the inlet structure
- Inlet structure pour is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 6

- Backfilling dirt around new box culvert
- Constructing wider in slopes
- Begin removal of sheet piling
- Install metal work around inlet structure

Highway 87 between Highway 71 and east of Hubbard will be detoured during construction, but residents and businesses will be able to access their properties. Thru traffic will not be allowed to ensure safety of the workers. Thru traffic will be detoured onto Hubbard County Road 20 and Highways 34 and 71. The project is expected to be complete mid-October, weather permitting.
