It's looking like crews may get started on Highway 108 west as early as next Tuesday, Aug. 19. There will be an in-town detour, similar to what's in place on the other side of town. Stay tuned next week for a map!
Week 15 progress
Crews continue working on getting dirt dried out in Stage 4A-C on Highway 108 east. As they get the road back to grade and start building up the road base, curb and gutter will begin next week.
Please drive slowly and with extreme caution at all times if traveling in or near the work zone. This is an active area and it is important for you to watch for uneven ground, equipment and workers. Continue to use 2 1/2 Street to access businesses on the north side of Highway 108 east.
Up on Highway 59, in Stage 2C between 7th Avenue NE to just beyond County Road 9, crews have installed curb and gutter on the east side of the road. Sidewalks and paving will follow.
Your continued cooperation at the automated signal is important. Expect to stop and wait until the light turns green before proceeding. Please obey the signal lights. If you are entering from the middle of the work zone, please wait and proceed with the correct direction of traffic. Your patience is important!
The contractor is planning to begin on Stage 3A and 3B, on Highway 108 west, as early as Tuesday, Aug. 19, weather permitting. The road will close just east of 1st Street NW to 3rd Street NW. The detour will follow 2nd Avenue NW and 3rd Street NW, with an automated signal to allow one-way traffic on 3rd Street NW. We'll share the new detour map next week!
