Local traffic impacts: Cannot enter or exit Highway 114 from the Highway 27 intersection. Find alternate route. Highway 27 remains open to east/west traffic with lane shifts.
With all of the culvert replacements now completed, crews are hoping things dry out enough to begin paving the sites. They're currently shaping up these locations to get them ready for paving. Expect short-term restrictions when paving begins.
At the intersection of Highway 114 and Highway 27, work is underway to build the temporary bypass. This bypass will be used during the roundabout construction for east/west traffic on Highway 27. When the bypass is completed, crews will get started on constructing the roundabout.
Motorists traveling on Highway 27 should be aware of lane shifts and reduced speeds through the work zone. You cannot access Highway 114 north or south from the Highway 27 intersection. This restriction will remain in place through the completion of the project in October. Please plan ahead and consider your alternate route.
All thru-traffic should continue to follow the detour on I-94, Highway 29 and Highway 55.
Work is underway at the Highway 27 and Highway 114 intersection.
Completed work
- Replace Pipes 1-13
- Ditch cleaning
Upcoming schedule
- Pave remaining pipe sites
- Clean and line existing pipes throughout the entire project
- Finish construction of the temporary bypass on Highway 27
- Begin construction of the roundabout at Highway 114 and Highway 27 intersection
We have two years of projects scheduled on Highway 114. This year's project includes culvert replacements between Highway 55 and I-94, and roundabout construction at the intersection of Highway 27 and Highway 114. Next year, we'll come back to resurface the entire roadway.
Check the project website for project information, construction updates, and MnDOT contacts. We're here to help!
All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather dependent and subject to change. MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, slow down in work zones where workers are present, and never enter an area that's blocked by barriers or cones.
