Week 14 progress
We like a day like today: sunny and hot to help dry up... well, everything! The rainy weather has made it challenging for crews to get the road put back together in Stage 4A-C on Highway 108 east. They're currently working the dirt, drying things up and bringing it up to grade. The road base has to be in place before curb, gutter, sidewalks and paving can be done, so we very much appreciate your patience through this soggy summer.
Please drive slowly and with extreme caution at all times if traveling in or near the work zone. This is an active area and it is important for you to watch for uneven ground, equipment and workers. Continue to use 2 1/2 Street to access businesses on the north side of Highway 108 east.
Up on Highway 59, in Stage 2C between 7th Avenue NE to just beyond County Road 9, crews are finishing up watermain and other underground work. Once that's done, they'll work on building up the road, then curb, gutter and paving will follow.
Your continued cooperation at the automated signal is important. Expect to stop and wait until the light turns green before proceeding. Please obey the signal lights. If you are entering from the middle of the work zone, please wait and proceed with the correct direction of traffic. Your patience is important!
We're also looking ahead at Stage 3A-C on Highway 108 west. That will likely start up sometime this month, although the exact date is unknown at this time. We will keep you informed as we work through that schedule with the contractor.
