Thank you for your patience with the extended closure on Anne Lane this week. The rainy weather and wet conditions caused some delays, but they were able to get the roadway back together and the detour route is now back in town using Anne Lane (see map).
Be aware that the Anne Lane intersection is gravel, and will remain that way until paving starts in this stage. Please travel with caution.
Week 13 progress
In Stage 2C, on Highway 59 between 7th Avenue NE to just beyond County Road 9, crews are finished with removals and are working on the underground utility replacements on the east side of the road. Once those structures are all in place, they'll start to rebuild the road, and curb and gutter will follow.

Your continued cooperation at the automated signal is important. Expect to stop and wait until the light turns green before proceeding. Please obey the signal lights. If you are entering from the middle of the work zone, please wait and proceed with the correct direction of traffic. Your patience is important!
In Stages 4A, 4B and 4C, on Highway 108 east from 2 1/2 Street to Anne Lane, crews are working on rebuilding the roadway base. They're drying out some areas, putting down sand, and finishing with gravel in others. If the weather cooperates next week, they hope to have the roadway ready for concrete by the end of the week/early the following week.
Please drive slowly and with extreme caution at all times if traveling in or near the work zone. This is an active area and it is important for you to watch for uneven ground, equipment and workers. Continue to use 2 1/2 Street to access businesses on the north side of Highway 108 east.

Know before you go to WE Fest!
It's that time of year again when thousands of travelers head to Detroit Lakes for WE Fest. During the week of Aug. 4, expect more traffic through Pelican Rapids and be prepared for additional backups and long delays. Please plan accordingly.
Minnesota is in the heart of road construction season with many other active work zones on highways statewide. Travelers are strongly encouraged to plan their routes in advance and use 511mn.org or download the free MN511 app.
There are several ways you can find information or get your questions answered:
All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather dependent and subject to change. MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, slow down in work zones where workers are present, and never enter an area that's blocked by barriers or cones.
