Z ARCHIVE D3 - Hwy 55 in Annandale: 2025 construction
Heads up—starting Mon, Aug. 4, the Hwy 55 access at Excelsior Ave. will close for two weeks while crews regrade and pave the road; put in new curbs, gutters and storm sewers; and install a new signal system. If you usually use this intersection, please take an alternate route like Harrison St./Oak Ave. or Brown Ave.

Through traffic detour continues
Hwy 55 remains closed between Brown Ave. and Annandale Blvd.

- Drivers passing through — Big thanks for using the detour! It's a huge help in keeping Annandale accessible and making sure locals have smoother trips inside the construction zone.

Local traffic—Annandale is open
Annandale businesses are still open for everyone within the closed work zone. Local traffic reminders:
- Plan for changes as construction activities may occur without advance notice, so always follow the road signs.
- Expect use of alternate accesses, reduced speeds, gravel or grooved road surfaces, narrowed lanes and lane shifts.
- For your safety and ours, watch for workers and equipment, slow down, navigate with care and caution and stay out of barricaded areas.
- Pedestrians will encounter sidewalk closures; follow signs.
When complete in mid-October, travelers will benefit from a smoother ride; improved motorist and pedestrian access and safety; and updated drainage and city utilities.
