Local traffic impacts this week into next week: Restrictions and impassable areas between Highway 27 and West Lake Mary Drive/County Road 91.
With work nearly done on Pipe 10, crews will begin on Pipe 11 today, the last centerline culvert replacement on the project! The Pipe 11 site is just south of Highway 27, and is expected to be impassable to all traffic until potentially Monday, depending on water levels and weather.
Next week, when they're done at Pipe 11, crews will start on the temporary bypass along Highway 27. This bypass will be used during the roundabout construction for east/west traffic on Highway 27. The bypass will take about one week to construct, and then crews will get started on constructing the roundabout.
Local traffic may encounter some restrictions at the completed culvert sites when paving crews are back to pave those areas as well. Please travel with caution and obey traffic control.
All thru-traffic should continue to follow the detour on I-94, Highway 29 and Highway 55.
During the roundabout construction, Highway 27 will remain passable for east/west traffic, but you will NOT be able to access Highway 114 north or south from the Highway 27 intersection. Please plan ahead and consider your alternate route.
 Completed work
- Replace Pipe 1 - 9, Pipe 12 and Pipe 13
- Ditch cleaning
Upcoming schedule
- Continue to shape/pave completed culvert sites
- Finish at Pipe 10
- Replace Pipe 11
- Clean and line existing pipes throughout the entire project
- Construct temporary bypass on Highway 27
- Begin construction of the roundabout at Highway 114 and Highway 27 intersection
We have two years of projects scheduled on Highway 114. This year's project includes culvert replacements between Highway 55 and I-94, and roundabout construction at the intersection of Highway 27 and Highway 114. Next year, we'll come back to resurface the entire roadway.
Check the project website for project information, construction updates, and MnDOT contacts. We're here to help!
All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather dependent and subject to change. MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, slow down in work zones where workers are present, and never enter an area that's blocked by barriers or cones.
