Z ARCHIVE D3 - Hwy 55 in Annandale: 2025 construction
Multiple crews have been busy along the entire stretch of this project from Brown Ave. to Annandale Blvd. They have realigned and opened the access at Poplar Ave. and they continue to work underground on utilities, storm and sanitary sewer, city watermain and sidewalks.
 Next week: Traffic switch
Good news—the final layer of new asphalt road surface along the north side of Hwy 55 from Poplar Ave. to east of Annandale Blvd. is completed! By next Tue, July 22, both directions of traffic will move and drive on this new, wider road surface while crews close and continue to work on the south side of Hwy 55.
Crews install city sanitary sewer in the downtown area at Myrtle Ave.

Important note: MnDOT urges drivers who are just passing through to use this detour. This helps keep Annandale accessible and makes travel smoother within the work area. Thanks in advance for your cooperation!
 Through traffic detour map
Annandale is open to local traffic
Hwy 55 continues to be open for those who live, work or visit along the work zone.
- Expect reduced speeds, changes to access, gravel or grooved road surfaces, narrowed lanes, lane shifts, flaggers, heavy equipment and use of alternate accesses.
- Please slow down, follow construction signs through the work zone and stay out of barricaded areas.
- Pedestrians will encounter sidewalk closures; follow signs.
When complete in mid-October, travelers will benefit from a smoother ride; improved motorist and pedestrian access and safety; and updated drainage and city utilities.
