Highway 87 construction update: July 11
The Highway 87 project in Hubbard is on schedule and expected to be complete mid-October. The work at the dam is still expected to be complete mid-September. The detour will be in place for the duration of the entire project through mid-October. MnDOT will continue to maintain access for area residents and businesses throughout construction.

Traffic impacts: Full detour is in place utilizing Highway 71, Highway 34 and Hubbard County Road 20. Highway 87 is not passable between Lake Street (CR6) and Delaney Lane due to construction on the Long Lake box culvert. *
- Continued work on stream bypass system for the box culvert
- Prepare gravel for paving in Stage 1: Hubbard CR 14 to Hubbard CR 6 (north end of the project) and in Hubbard from Lake Street (CR 6) to east end of the project.
- Paving Stage 1 (July 10-15, weather permitting)

- Paving Stage 1 (July 10-15, weather permitting)
- Work on gravel shoulders in Stage 1 locations after paving
- Begin Stage 2 work- CR 6 to Lake Street in Hubbard. This work is mostly offline and includes ditch cuts and entrance pipes.

Highway 87 between Highway 71 and east of Hubbard will be detoured during construction, but residents and businesses will be able to access their properties. Thru traffic will not be allowed to ensure safety of the workers. Thru traffic will be detoured onto Hubbard County Road 20 and Highways 34 and 71. The project is expected to be complete mid-October, weather permitting.
A nearby project on Highway 87 will also be constructed later this summer. The eastern project includes resurfacing and culvert replacements from Hubbard County Road 13 to Highway 64. This project will take place August through September 2025.
