Local traffic impacts through next week: Restrictions and impassable areas from County Road 4 to County Road 26
Work on Pipe 6 has gone better than expected! With plans to have that area passable today, crews are planning to get started right away on Pipe 5. That means there will be a hard closure at the Pipe 5 site through the weekend, including overnights and Sunday when workers are not present. Residents and local traffic will need to find an alternate route around it—you may have to come from the opposite direction you're used to taking, depending on your location and path of travel.
Crews are planning to have Pipe 5 done by Tuesday, weather permitting, and then they'll continue to Pipe 7. When they start on Pipe 7, which is at the intersection of Highway 114 and County Road 4, expect additional restrictions to/from County Road 4 for several days. You likely will not be able to enter or exit from County Road 4 and will need to use an alternate route around to access north or south of the culvert site.
A reminder that all construction activities and local traffic impacts are weather dependent and subject to change.
Thru-traffic, please follow the detour route on I-94, Highway 29 and Highway 55.
We have two years of projects scheduled on Highway 114. This year's project includes culvert replacements between Highway 55 and I-94, and roundabout construction at the intersection of Highway 27 and Highway 114. Next year, we'll come back to resurface the entire roadway.
Check the project website for project information, construction updates, and MnDOT contacts. We're here to help!
All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather dependent and subject to change. MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, slow down in work zones where workers are present, and never enter an area that's blocked by barriers or cones.
