D6 - Hwy 14 Stockton to Winona: 2025 construction
Follow the detour, don't get stuck waiting on signal
Mathiowetz Construction crews continue to make progress in the work of rebuilding the the slope along Stockton Hill on Highway 14 between Winona and Stockton.
Crews are on site No. 2 and plan to finish it soon. Six sites are scheduled for work on the Stockton side before crews will move over to the Winona side to do work there. A total of 20 sites and five areas for guardrail are part of this project to improve the slope and reduce the effects of erosion.
Remember that the detour is in place. Only residents, businesses or people doing business on the hill should use Highway 14 to minimize the impact and maintain safety for motorists and workers.
Read more below, but first also take a look at some of the work taking place this week:
Detour
Thank you for following the detour on Highway 14. No through traffic is allowed. Only residents and businesses are allowed to use the road during construction to minimize the impact and maintain safety for workers and motorists.
Motorists on the hill will need to wait at temporary traffic signals to allow oncoming traffic to come through. Both directions take turn with the signal. The wait for the signal can take several minutes, which means there's less delay if you take the detour, which is 6 miles longer than the normal route.
Keep everyone safe.
Residences also have traffic signals in the work zone to ensure that there is no wrong-way traffic. Please stay alert!
