Highway 87 construction update: June 27
What's happening this week?

Traffic impacts: Full detour is in place utilizing Highways 71, 34 and Hubbard County Road 20. Highway 87 is not passable between Lake Street (CR6) and Delaney Lane due to construction on the Lake Long box culvert.*
- Pouring concrete curb and gutter through Hubbard.
- Continue driving sheetpiling and installing the stream bypass system for the box culvert
- Installing entrance culverts from Hubbard CR 6 working their way south

Traffic impacts: Full detour is in place utilizing Highway 71, Highway 34 and Hubbard County Road 20. Highway 87 is not passable between Lake Street (CR6) and Delaney Lane due to construction on the Lake Long box culvert.*
- Installing stream bypass system for the box culvert.
- Reclamation of the milled road surface from East of 159th Ave to near Hubbard County Road 6.
- *Note: Construction crews will not be working from July 3 to July 6.*

Highway 87 between Highway 71 and east of Hubbard will be detoured during construction, but residents and businesses will be able to access their properties. Thru traffic will not be allowed to ensure safety of the workers. Thru traffic will be detoured onto Hubbard County Road 20 and Highways 34 and 71. The project is expected to be complete mid-October, weather permitting.
A nearby project on Highway 87 will also be constructed later this summer. The eastern project includes resurfacing and culvert replacements from Hubbard County Road 13 to Highway 64. This project will take place August through September 2025.
