Highway 87 construction update: June 20
What's happening this week?
June 16-21

Traffic impacts: Full detour is in place utilizing Highway 71, Highway 34 and Hubbard County Road 20. Highway 87 is not passable between Lake Street (CR6) and Delaney Lane due to construction on the Lake Long box culvert.*
- Began work on Long Lake box culvert. Crews are driving sheetpiling in the lake and the outlet side to act as a cofferdam
- Heavy rains this week delayed the pouring of the concrete curb and gutter through Hubbard (rescheduled for early next week)
- Placed and compacted gravel base through Hubbard
- Placed and compacted gravel base from Highway 71 to east of 159th Ave
- Installed entrance culverts from 159th Ave heading east
- Grading ditches from Highway 71 to 159th Ave.
What's happening next week?

- Pouring concrete curb and gutter through Hubbard.
- Continue driving sheetpiling and installing the stream bypass system for the box culvert
- Installing entrance culverts from Hubbard CR 6 working their way south

Highway 87 between Highway 71 and east of Hubbard will be detoured during construction, but residents and businesses will be able to access their properties. Thru traffic will not be allowed to ensure safety of the workers. Thru traffic will be detoured onto Hubbard County Road 20 and Highways 34 and 71. The project is expected to be complete mid-October, weather permitting.
A nearby project on Highway 87 will also be constructed later this summer. The eastern project includes resurfacing and culvert replacements from Hubbard County Road 13 to Highway 64. This project will take place August through September 2025.
