Traffic impacts: Full detour is in place utilizing Highways 71, 34 and Hubbard County Road 20
- *Beginning June 16th, Highway 87 will not be passable between Lake Street (County Road 6) and Delaney Lane due to construction beginning on the Long Lake box culvert.*
- Begin placing sheetpiling and bypass pipe in Long Lake to act as the cofferdam for construction of the box culvert
- Placing and compacting gravel base through the town of Hubbard
- Pouring concrete curb and gutter through the town of Hubbard.
- Continue compacting sand and gravel base from Highway 71 to 159th Ave
- Placing topsoil on newly constructed ditches from Highway 71 to 159th Ave
- Continue installing entrance culverts from 159th Ave to Hubbard County Road 6

Highway 87 between Highway 71 and east of Hubbard will be detoured during construction, but residents and businesses will be able to access their properties. Thru traffic will not be allowed to ensure safety of the workers. Thru traffic will be detoured onto Hubbard County Road 20 and Highways 34 and 71. The project is expected to be complete mid-October, weather permitting.
A nearby project on Highway 87 will also be constructed later this summer. The eastern project includes resurfacing and culvert replacements from Hubbard County Road 13 to Highway 64. This project will take place August through September 2025.
