What traveler impacts to expect

Hwy 12 will remain open to one lane of traffic each way from west of Summerfield Dr. to First St. S.

Expect narrow lanes, lane shifts, gravel surfaces and flaggers directing traffic. Shoulders and turn lanes will close at times.

Crews will primarily work between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Waverly is open
- Access to businesses and residents will be maintained and open along Hwy 12. However, expect use of alternate entrances or side streets, including sidewalk detours.
What crews will do
- Resurface Hwy 12 with a new asphalt road surface from west of Summerfield Dr. to First St. S.
- Reconstruct or repair concrete curbs, gutters and entrances.
- Improve and update pedestrian access, including sidewalks and flashing crosswalk signals at the Hwy 12 intersections of Wright Co. Rd. 8 SW and Fourth St. S/Co. Rd. 62.

The Hwy 12 work zone remains open with one lane in each direction through Howard Lake. Drivers should expect narrow lanes, lane shifts, gravel surfaces and flaggers directing traffic through late July.
In May, crews replaced all the underground structures beneath the road.
Howard Lake is open. Access to businesses and residents will be maintained and open during this project. However, expect use of alternate entrances or side streets, including sidewalk detours.
Multiple crews are at work on sidewalks, utilities, drainage and more.

In the fall, workers will return to all three communities to apply the final layer of asphalt road surface and permanent markings.
When complete in mid-October, the project will create smoother roads and improve safety for drivers and pedestrians on Hwy 12 in Howard Lake, Waverly and Montrose.
