On June 2, Main Avenue will close between 10th Street South and 13th Street South as Stage 2 work begins on the 11th Street underpass project. Closures on First Avenue North remain in place as construction continues simultaneously in Stage 1, as well as portions of 11th Street for bridge construction.
Main Avenue traffic should follow the detour on 10th Street S, 2nd Ave S and 13th Street S. Center Avenue remains open to east and west traffic.
Your patience is appreciated as drivers get familiar with new traffic patterns and routes. Please plan ahead for potential traffic and rail delays.
 Stage 2 work is expected to last through November, and includes reconstructing Main Avenue with underground utility replacements, and reconstructing 11th Street to tie into the future underpass bridges. Main Avenue business access will be maintained, but keep in mind you may need to enter from a different area than you're used to. Please check with your destination to find out the best way to get to them.
Once Stage 2 is complete, construction of Stage 3 on Center Avenue will follow.
Another exciting update is that BNSF is on-site working on placement of the track on the main rail alignment on the Hillsboro line! In late June, trains will return to the Hillsboro mainline track, and work continues on the underpass.

Train horns have resumed in the Downtown Quiet Zone during construction hours (Monday - Friday, 6am - 7pm). This is a requirement of the railroad, and we appreciate your understanding as worker safety is prioritized.

Moorhead businesses are open during construction! If your destination falls within/near the work zone or along the detour routes, please check in with the business to determine the best route there.

Never enter an area that's blocked by barriers or cones. It is not safe to drive, walk or bike around barricades, even in areas where workers aren't present or active. Those boundaries are set up for your safety. There are signed detours installed for both motorists and pedestrians. Please use those routes.
