Metro - Let me know about new projects and studies in the Twin Cities Metro Area
Beginning in July, we will be repaving Hwy 55 between Thomas Ave. in Minneapolis and Hwy 100 in Golden Valley and making repairs to the bridge over the BNSF railroad that runs near Theodore Wirth Regional Park. This work is necessary to maintain the infrastructure and to make accessibility improvements.
In addition to the repaving of Hwy 55, we will be making other improvements including constructing an alternative Luce Trail route, constructing side paths and trails and revising the left turn lane at Dahlberg Dr. to make it safer with a raised median.
During construction, motorists can expect lane closures and other traffic impacts. The project is anticipated to be complete in October 2025.
If you’d like to stay up-to-date on this work, including information about upcoming traffic impacts, sign up for email updates below.
