Standard Drawings - Plates & Plans

MnDOT has updated the Standard Plans Manual. 

Standard Plans Transmittal Letter 25-03 has been issued, dated February 10, 2025.

Important Note:

Our Standard Plans website now includes a dedicated page for guidance documents on the use of standard plans and plates. This information can be accessed under the “Guidance” tab or directly via this link: https://www.dot.state.mn.us/design/design-standards/guidance.html.

For MnDOT projects let on or after June 1, 2025, standard plans will be incorporated into a plan set by reference using a table that lists the standard plan sheets (similar to standard plates). The listed standard plans will no longer appear as sheets in the plan set. Specialty offices responsible for preparing specific sections of the plan set will also create a table listing the standard plans they are incorporating into the plan set. Modified standard plans cannot be included in this table and must instead be incorporated into the plan set as individual sheets. Please refer to the detail guidance for referencing and modifying standard plans on the webpage linked above.
