MnCORS - Minnesota Continuously Operating Reference Stations
If you are utilizing the CMRPlus, CMRx, or RTCM31 mountpoint in your field equipment no changes are needed.
If you are using the RTCM32 mountpoint in your field equipment you will need to update your controller to use a RTCM34 mountpoint next Tuesday after 4:00pm.
RTCM31 and CMRPlus use the GPS and GLONASS satellites only. They also use L1 and L2 signals only. If your equipment uses a RTCM data format and is only licensed for these satellites and signals, it is recommended to only use RTCM31.
RTCM32 which will be RTCM34, and CMRX use GPS (USA), GLONASS (Russia), Galileo (Europe), and BeiDou (China) satellites. They also use L1, L2, and L5 signals. If your equipment is licensed for Galileo or BeiDou satellites and/or the L5 signal, you must use a RTCM34 or CMRX data format to access these options.
CMR correction protocols are proprietary to Trimble equipment. Although CMRPlus is open to most GNSS receivers, it is recommended to use a RTCM message if you don't have Trimble equipment.
Trimble equipment users should always try to first utilize the CMRX data format, almost all devices will use the CMRX mountpoint. CMRX data packets are smaller than the CMRPlus packets and this can help resolve issues while in areas of poor internet service.
Our FAQ has additional information about mountpoints in sections 8 and 9.
