Grant Notifications – March 2025
A huge thank-you to everyone who submitted grant applications and innovative projects to help expand and strengthen Safe Routes to School across Minnesota! The MnDOT team is currently reviewing applications, and notifications will be sent out in March. We appreciate your dedication to making active transportation safer and more accessible for students statewide.
Winter Walk Day to School Day Highlights!
Governor Tim Walz proclaimed Wednesday, Feb.5, 2025 as Winter Walk to School Day! Sixty schools from across the state participated in this year’s event.

Minneapolis Public Schools held a discussion between MPS’ GreenCorps member Annie Meyer and Bria Fast, a transportation planner with Minneapolis Public Works and the city’s SRTS Manager, on SRTS efforts, traffic calming measures, community engagement, and more. Golden Snow Boot Award
Congratulations to the Pratt Elementary School, Minneapolis Public Schools for being selected as the winner of the Golden Snow Boost Award photo contest! This photo captures the joyous energy of children participating in this year’s Winter Walk to School Day event. Kudos for encouraging students to dress warmly, get outside, walk together along a snowy path with smiles and enthusiasm.
