Hwy 75 Perley project update:

Please note: the Phase 1 completion date is now Sept. 25, weather permitting. The project will still resume in Phase 2 in May, 2025.

Phase 1 construction on Highway 75 in Perley will complete on Sept. 25.  The project is led by the Wild Rice Watershed District and includes raising the grade of Highway 75 north and south of Perley.

The Highway 75 grade raise project will continue in the spring. When the project begins again, the overall traffic impact will be much lower as the preparation of this construction will be completed this fall. Phase 2 (Hwy 75 south of CR 39 intersection) will take place in May, 2025. Phase 3 (Norman CR 39 west of Hwy 75 intersection) is planned for late-May to mid-June, 2025.

The existing detour will be lifted with completion of Phase 1 construction. During Phase 2 motorists will detour utilizing Norman County roads 39 and 12, as well as Clay County roads 11 and 34.

In addition to the grade raise, project elements include:

• Grade raise on CR 39 in Perley
• Highway 75 concrete mainline, bituminous shoulders
• Norman CR 39 mill and overlay within the town of Perley

Benefits of the project include a safer road, improved drainage, flood protection and a smoother and longer lasting driving surface.

Important reminders for motorists regarding work zone safety:

• Slow down when approaching every work zone, then navigate through with care and caution.
• Stay alert; work zones constantly change.
• Watch for workers and slow-moving equipment.
• Obey posted speed limits. Fine for a violation in a work zone is $300.
• Minimize distractions behind the wheel.
• Be patient; expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
