What's happening now?
Hwy 11 south of Warroad River bridge
- Paving complete
- Permanent striping will take place next week

- Roadwork is complete
- Crews working on turf establishment and final striping

- Storm sewer installation was completed on west side of road
- Curb and gutter also complete on west side
- ADA ramps and sidewalk now beginning on this segment

What's next?
Hwy 11 south of Warroad River bridge
- Concrete work will be finishing up
- Bituminous trail and turf establishment will be completed on east side of road
- Striping of mainline pavement completed
HWY 11 north of the Warroad River Bridge
- ADA ramps, sidewalk and driveway installation will continue
- Crews will prep grade for paving operations
- Turf establishment to follow sidewalk completion
- Once the west side of the road is paved, traffic lanes will be moved onto the new pavement and construction on the east side of the segment will begin
- Construction work will wrap up for the year in late-September
- Crews will begin roundabout construction, as well as half of the Warroad River Bridge in 2025
Traffic Impact:
- Truck traffic should continue to use the truck detour
- In town traffic is currently two lanes on half of the roadway
- Motorists should continue to pay attention and use caution in the work zone
The contractor for this $17.5 million dollar project is Spruce Valley. This project will create a safer, longer lasting driving surface as well as improve drainage, pedestrian accessibility, and a safer intersection. It is estimated to be complete by October 2024, and resume in the spring of 2025, weather permitting. Important reminders for motorists regarding work zone safety:
- Slow down when approaching every work zone, then navigate through with care and caution.
- Stay alert; work zones constantly change.
- Watch for workers and slow-moving equipment.
- Obey posted speed limits. Fine for a violation in a work zone is $300.
- Minimize distractions behind the wheel.
- Be patient; expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
